Why it exists

Your department policies may be on your phone, but do you know which of the 700 pages says how to handle a shooting? No one thinks clearly in the minutes after an officer-involved shooting. Adrenaline, confusion, and pressure from every direction make it easy to forget what matters most.

The OIS Mobile App puts a step-by-step plan in your pocket. It was built by a former police officer and certified Force Science Analyst. Before anything happens, you add your required documents, phone numbers, and more, all in one place. No searching through your phone on body camera for a picture of your attorney's or union representative's business card.

Set it up once. Have it ready. We hope you never need it.

How purchase works

  1. Purchase. Buy the app through our secure checkout.

  2. Receive your code. A unique access code arrives by email within one business day.

  3. Install and set up. Enter the code, add the app to your home screen, and fill in your contacts and documents.

Features

What the app includes

Post-Incident Guide

Two modes, one for the involved officer and one for someone supporting them on scene. Each walks through the priorities in order, from officer safety and rendering aid to what to expect from an investigation.

Preparation Checklist

Get ready before anything happens. Add the app to your home screen, set your emergency contacts, upload and review your contract and department policies, and view a standard public safety statement or add your own.

Resources

Legal defense coverage options, officer wellness and support organizations, Illinois statutes and resources, and national guidance on responding to officer-involved shootings.

Public Safety Statement

Review the standard public safety statement questions ahead of time, or swap in your own department's questions so you know what to expect.

Works When You Need It

After you enter your access code, install it to your home screen and it opens like an app, with no login and no waiting.

Built for Supervisors

Supervisors can add their own contract and those of the officers under their command. A chief or deputy chief can add several, so they are ready regardless of the rank of the involved officer.

Privacy

Your details stay on your device

The app has no accounts, no sign-in, and no tracking, just a one-time access code for each purchase. Your emergency contacts, notes, and checklist progress are stored only on your device. Nothing is sent to Code 3 Concepts LLC or anyone else. If you bought access, Code 3 Concepts LLC keeps an ordinary record of that sale. The app itself does not.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get access?

Each purchase includes a unique access code registered to the person or agency that purchased it. Use the Get the App button to purchase. Your access code arrives by email within one business day.

Do you offer agency or group purchases?

Yes. Group purchase discounts are available. Contact us for details.

Is this legal advice?

No. The app provides general educational information to help you prepare. It does not replace your attorney, your union representative, or your department's policies. The app does not provide any legal services.

Is it only for Illinois officers?

The post-incident guidance and national resources apply to officers anywhere. The statutes and state resources section is specific to Illinois.

What happens if I get a new phone?

Because your information is stored only on your device, it does not transfer automatically. Open the app on your new phone, enter your access code, and re-enter your contacts.

Do I need an internet connection?

Once installed to your home screen, the app is designed to open without a connection. You will need a cellular connection to call the contacts saved in the app.
